How to Do Foot Spa at Home

There you have it, a simple foot spa from the comfort of your home. Now it’s time to give it a try. Take a minute to think about your feet. They’re not just a pack of bones and meat. They walk you down the street. You use them to step on a public toilet seat. So I don’t have to repeat.

Everyone has those days when they simply don’t want to get out of the house because they are too lazy. There are also those days when you want to save a couple bucks. Well, those are the days when you should have best foot spa at home. Saves you the trouble of having to travel and helps your pockets say hallelujah.

Foot Spa at Home

I will take you through very easy steps on how you can do this without having to spend a lot of money.


WHAT WILL YOU NEED FOR THE NAILS
  • Sea salt
  • Olive oil
  • Baking soda
  • Brown sugar
  • Rosemary
  • Yogurt
  • Oats
FOR SOAKING
  • Warm water
  • Marbles
  • Lemon juice
  • Powdered tea
  • Honey
  • Epsom salt
  • Sugar
  • Essential oil- cinnamon, lavender or peppermint
  • White vinegar
  • Listerine
FOR THE SCRUB
  • Moisturizing cream
  • Pumice stone
  • Clean towel
  • A pair of slippers
STEPS

The first and very crucial step is to create a calm and relaxing environment for you. Choose a place where you want to have the foot spa at then you can either play some cool, soothing music like classical music or jazz, dim the lights or light some scented candles.

PREPARATION STAGE

• Remove any old nail polish with remover
• Trim nails to the desired length using a nail cutter
• File your nails to the desired shape

SOAKING STAGE

• Fill a plastic tub with warm water
• Dip your feet all the way up to your calves
• Add the marbles
• Add the lemon juice, powdered tea, honey, Epsom salt, Listerine, sugar, white vinegar and the essential oil of your choice. I prefer lavender.
• Soak for 20- 30 minutes
• Dry with a clean towel

SCRUBBING STAGE

This is where you exfoliate your skin with your foot scrub. To create your foot scrub, mix sea salt, olive oil, baking soda, brown sugar, rosemary, yogurt and oats in a bowl. Make sure you get a thick paste. You can then use the scrub to exfoliate your feet. After you are done, clean your feet using the warm water.

Apply a small amount of cuticle remover on the base of your toes. As you wait, scrub your feet with the pumice stone. Once the soles of your feet are all done, go back to your toes and remove the cuticles with the cuticle pusher. Scrub your nails with the nail scrubber. Clean and dry your feet.

Follow up with a foot massage. Moisturize your feet. You can choose to paint your nails once you are done.
